World's first flexible multi-functional timer to be distributed at Printed Electronics Europe
Mar 24, 2014 | A consortium of partners will launch the world's first flexible timer based on printed electronics at the IDTechEx Printed Electronics Europe event in Berlin, April 1-2. The device consists of an electronic logic circuit implemented with thin film metal oxide transistors, powered by a printed battery, and integrated onto a paper substrate. It has four timing sequences and is designed for multi-functional use across four different applications.
Feb 13, 2014 | 2014 has only just began and already discussions abound on how a "tipping point" has been reached in the field of printed and flexible electronics, a statement mostly backed by the significant interest and accompanying investment by LG and Samsung into the commercialisation of flexible displays. Fully flexible displays are still a few years away, but recently demonstrated devices on plastic substrates (but still encapsulated in rigid glass) by both Korean giants are the precursors of conformable ultra-thin OLEDs, which will be characterised by true flexibility and unsurpassed robustness.

Dec 10, 2013 | The total global gross value market for hybrid and pure electric vehicles will reach US$334 Billion within the decade, from a current value of US$69 Billion, forecast analysts IDTechEx. This will primarily consist of large or very heavy duty vehicles, neither of which is primarily bought on up-front price. These military, industrial and commercial vehicles are evenly split between on-road and off-road types, but with a multi-billion dollar marine sector coming up fast. All these vehicles are primarily bought on Total Cost of Ownership TCO and performance.
