The SMTA is pleased to announce that the SMTA Guadalajara Chapter has successfully completed the formation process and is now recognized as an official and active chapter of the SMTA. To mark this occasion, the chapter is holding their first Technical Presentation Meeting on July 12, 2012 with special guest speaker Joe Belmonte, ITM Consulting. The meeting will be held at Freescale Mexico in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, Mexico.
In his presentation "Stencil Design and a DFM Overview," Joe will discuss how to design stencils that will maximize the solder paste printing process and minimize soldering defects. The presentation will conclude with an overview of the Design for Manufacturability (DFM) Process and how it is the most critical process in determining if a particular product will achieve its quality, cost, performance, and time to market goals.
