The SMTA Capital Chapter is pleased to announce its final meeting of 2016 will be on November 10th, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Zentech, 6980 Tudsbury Road, Baltimore, Maryland 21244. The focus of this chapter meeting will be “AXI and MXI; How They Complement Each Other” presented by John Travis, Nordson Dage.
Mr. Travis will introduce AXI technology with some examples of its many uses and will also show how the two technologies (AXI and MXI) work in conjunction with each other to allow complete confidence in your inspection process. The presentation will give a better understanding of how to interpret PCB level defects using Digital High Resolution X-Ray. Attendees will be exposed to many different types of solder related defects such as head-in-pillow, dendrites, cracks, and fractures in BGA’s and solder level opens. Mr. Travis will also provide a better understanding of what you are going to see using today’s high magnification, high resolution digital x-ray systems and offer recommendations for proper inspection techniques. A live demo of the technology will be featured.
Mr. Travis is the Sales Manager for Nordson Dage and Nordson Yestech responsible for sales and X-Ray applications for the Northeast region and is IPC-610F CIS Certified. He has many years of experience with various applications and inspection techniques using digital x-ray imaging. He brings over 30 years of experience in the electronics industry and has been involved in application engineering and the sales of x-ray inspection equipment for the last 14 years.
