Prior to joining Enthone, Dr. Zhang was the Research Director, Tin and Tin Alloy Technologies at Technic Inc. Before that, Dr. Zhang was an R&D Manager with the former Electroplating Chemicals & Services division of Lucent Technologies (EC&S). While at EC&S, she was primarily responsible for the development of Lucent tin, tin/lead and lead-free plating processes. A highlight of her career was the award of the prestigious ATP/NIST grant for developing lead-free solder electroplating technologies utilizing spectroelectrochemistry. Dr. Zhang holds nine patents and won two industrial awards for understanding the whisker growth phenomenon. With over 17 years academic and industrial experience in the fields of chemistry and electroplating, and significant experience in materials science and technology, Dr. Zhang brings a wealth of talent to Enthone.
Dr. Zhang received a PhD degree in inorganic chemistry / electrochemistry from Brown University. Dr. Zhang has contributed to two text books, authored 51 scientific publications and one book chapter titled, "Tin and Tin Alloys for Lead-free Solders," in Modern Electroplating.
Dr. Zhang is an active member of the Electrochemical Society, American Electroplaters and Surface Finishers Society (AESF) and the Surface Mount Technology Association (SMTA).
