SEMA and SMTA announce the finalized program for the Solar Manufacturing & Reliability Conference, which will take place from March 22-23, 2012 at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose, CA. The program will consist of presentations and discussions focusing on the reliability testing of PV modules, covering gaps and where future work needs to be done. It will highlight various reliability programs being done in the industry with an assessment of current and evolving standards in manufacturing and reliability. This will include the work of the PV Module QA Forum Task Force groups that will submit their recommendations to the various IEC and other international standards groups.
Sessions will cover inverter and microinverter reliability/Balance of Systems and future trends. Module manufacturing and general manufacturing issues will be discussed together with a review of the global solar outlook. Areas of concerns will be discussed for modules, which include general module hazardous issues and module warranties.
In addition to the conference, two half-day workshops, “A Review of PV Standards Including UL1703 and IEC61215” and “Manufacturing Technology and Troubleshooting PV Manufacturing” are scheduled for Wednesday, March 21.
A two-day exhibition will accompany the conference on March 22-23, 2012. Exhibitor booth registration is open and sponsorship opportunities are available.
The conference is supported by IPVEA. Visit http://www.smta.org/solar/ for more information or contact Mathew Holzmann at matt.holzmann@solar-ema.org or Jasbir Bath at jasbir.bath@solar-ema.org.
