Waters succeeds Interim CEO Jeffery McCreary, who was brought in to enable leadership continuity after Ray Sharpe’s retirement in August 2015. McCreary will continue to serve on Isola’s board of directors, a position he has held since 2006.
Jul 30, 2014 | Isola is pleased to announce a free Impedance and Power-Handling Calculator that predicts the design attributes for microstrips and striplines based on the design's target impedance and dielectric properties of the company's RF, microwave and millimeter-wave laminate materials.
Jul 21, 2014 | Isola Group announced that its technical staff would offer a conversion service for PCB fabricators of radio frequency (RF) and millimeter-wave applications. This global 24-hour design review service will enable PCB fabricators to quickly and cost-effectively transition their current RF substrates to Isola's RF products and eliminate the production backlogs caused by the current shortages of RF substrates.
Jun 26, 2014 | Isola Group announced the introduction of Tachyon-100G laminates and prepregs, which enable line cards required to transmit 100 Gigabit Ethernet (100GbE) at data rates in excess of 25 Gb/s per channel. Tachyon-100G has identical electrical properties as its predecessor Tachyon; however, the Z-axis coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) on Tachyon-100G is more than 30% lower than Tachyon, making it more suitable for fabricating high-layer count, 0.8 mm pitch line cards with heavy 2 oz. copper inner layers.
Apr 08, 2014 | Isola Group has launched a technology-licensing program to mitigate conductive anodic filamentation (CAF) problems in the fabrication of PCBs. This proprietary manufacturing technology, which is offered by ISOLA USA Corp. "Isola USA", reduces the number of voids in resin-impregnated dielectrics, which is a major source of CAF failures.
Feb 18, 2014 | Isola Group S.à r.l. announced today that GETEK® laminates and prepegs are now in production at its facility in Düren, Germany, which will shorten lead times to Isola's European customers.
Feb 05, 2014 | Isola Group has begun alpha testing of Tachyon, its new ultra-low loss product that is engineered to reduce insertion loss on high-peed digital designs. It is specifically being targeted for high-layer count backplanes for the growing 100 gigabit per second (Gbps) market that has channel data rates in excess of 25 Gbps.
Dec 18, 2013 | Isola Group announced today that its plant in Suzhou, China has received ISO/TS 16949 certification. This is the company's third such certification, which represents the highest international quality standard for the automotive industry. Isola's plants located in Duren, Germany and Huizhou, China are similarly certified. The certification of the Suzhou facility is a significant achievement in the company's strategic roadmap to further its presence in the automotive market.
Dec 18, 2013 | Isola Group had successfully transitioned the manufacturing of its low-loss, I-Speed material to Asia. The move was in response to an increased demand for I-Speed products. The cost benefits of manufacturing in Asia have enabled a price reduction of I-Speed for printed circuit board (PCB) fabricators located in the Asia-Pacific region.
Aug 09, 2013 | Isola Group announced Astra™, the company's breakthrough very low-loss dielectric constant (Dk) product for millimeter wave frequencies and beyond. Astra revolutionizes RF and microwave designs, as it delivers a thermoset solution, which is very easy to process and has stable electrical properties over a wide range of temperatures and frequencies.
Jul 22, 2013 | Isola Group S.a.r.l. announced today its new low loss, low skew, high-speed material, GigaSync™. This product has been engineered to eliminate skew issues in high-speed designs that use differential pairs to create a balanced transmission system able to carry differential (equal and opposite) signals across a printed circuit board.
Jul 17, 2013 | Isola Group announced today the site expansion of its Suzhou, China manufacturing facility. The substantial upgrade includes two additional hot oil presses, semi-automatic layup lines and an additional cleanroom.
Jul 10, 2013 | Isola Group announced today that its six-member IS680 copper-clad laminate family is now in production at its facility in Dueren, Germany. This move will shorten lead times to Isola's European customers. IS680 is the ideal material for complex RF and microwave applications, such as civilian and military communications systems and radar.
